British company Bladerunner released a line of bulletproof hoodies this spring, which are made of aramid fibers. According to Wikipedia, aramid fibers have the following qualities:

• good resistance to abrasion
• good resistance to organic solvents
• nonconductive
• no melting point (degradation starts from 500°C)
• low flammability

So yeah, you’re pretty much covered in the case of a fire, chemical spill, or shoot out. Coincidentally, Bladerunner also manufactures clothing for police officers and rescue squads. The grey hoodie pictured above is now selling for £59.99 on the company’s website, which translates to about $108.50 dollars. Not too bad for a life-saving sweatshirt.
